Top 5 Toronto Spas You Need to Visit

Top 5 Toronto Spas Touchstone MuskokaDuring this lockdown, the only thing that’s been on my mind is to hit up some of Toronto’s top spas when it’s over. Having spent most of the year with minimal social contact and being confined to our homes, it’s been mentally straining to say the least. Most of us have adjusted to this way of life but with many peoples mental health waning, it’s important to find ways to de-stress.

For me, it’s always been a trip to the spa where I could forget the world for a bit. I find complete solace in knowing that I could escape my stresses for a day and in replacement, be in a complete state of mindfulness. That is how I feel every time I visit a spa. Since having visited quite a few in Toronto already, I thought I’d share the ones that have been a standout. Here are the top 5 Toronto spas you need to visit when lockdown ends!

Top 5 Toronto Spas Go Place Markham
Asian-style spa, Go Place Spa located in Markham, Ontario

1. Go Place Spa

Go Place Spa is located north of Toronto in Markham, Ontario and is definitely worth a visit. I visited Go Place a year ago when they first opened and the size of the space was impressive. With 68,000 square feet filled with treatment rooms, lounging areas, jacuzzis, multiple saunas, a steam room and an in-house restaurant. The main selling point for me is how it stays open 24/7 all year round, with no time limit on how long you can stay. The admission is only $45, plus an extra $15 for the overnight fee. In fact, it would be cheaper to stay at Go Place for the night than at an actual hotel.

Known as a luxury leisure club, Go Place feels completely secluded tucked away from the outside world. You are free to roam, lounge and mingle with your friends as you please. As well, you can work out in the gym, get a spa treatment for an extra cost or even play games in the computer room if you like. The only downside for me was that it did tend to get overcrowded. However, with capacity restrictions in place, that most likely won’t be a problem when they’re up and running again.

Something to note: the jacuzzis and steam rooms are located in the change room so there are no co-ed water therapies if you intend to enjoy them with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Otherwise, Go Place is the perfect Asian-style spa to get your relaxation on.

Top 5 Toronto Spas Body Blitz women’s spa
Women’s only spa, Body Blitz in downtown Toronto

2. Body Blitz Spa

Located right in the heart of downtown Toronto, Body Blitz is the perfect spa for a girl’s night out. This women’s only spa has quickly become the go-to spot for us ladies to de-stress. Best part is you can order cocktails to be delivered right to you as you relieve tension in the spa waters. Equipped with a large heated dead sea salt pool, one hot tub, cold plunge pool, infrared sauna and eucalyptus steam room, Body Blitz has everything you need to fully indulge in the therapeutic water circuit. There are also robes and slippers provided so you’ll feel fully taken care of in your private oasis.

Known more as a social spa, Body Blitz is great for bachelorettes and get-togethers. I visited solo a couple years ago but didn’t find it to be a place for peaceful self-reflection as much as for catching up with friends. It’s on the pricier side at $68 for a 90-minute visit unless you visit on Tuesdays, where admission is $58. However, I’d say do it up if you’re looking for a fun but relaxing night out with a girlfriend. You can also book spa treatments, which are private from the general space.

Body Blitz is definitely one of top 5 Toronto spas to visit. It’s a great space to enjoy with friends complete with drinks and gab. Grab a girlfriend or two and treat yourself to this women’s only spa for a special night out.

Top 5 Toronto Spas SpaZen Cosmopolitan Hotel

3. SpaZen in the Executive Hotel Cosmopolitan

Located in a small boutique hotel in downtown Toronto, SpaZen might be one of the most relaxing spaces I’ve ever visited. Offering a wide range of spa services from massages to facials, body treatments and nail therapy. SpaZen is the go-to spot for those looking for an intimate spot for a birthday or a couples spa day. After your treatment, you can relax in the lounge area with its rejuvenating hot tub amidst its mindful and tranquil space. Luckily for me, I was able to enjoy the space all to myself and I really couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Since SpaZen is not as well-known, it’s the perfect spot for complete relaxation when looking for a quiet space without any interruptions. Spa treatments with an RMT massage start at $85 for 30 minutes, which isn’t too expensive compared to other high-end spas. However, it’s much better to book either a couples massage or Friends Bring Benefits Package for the best value. The Friends Package includes a massage, mani-pedi, lunch and a glass of champagne for only $195 per person. I’d say it’s a steal (though I still have yet to try it).

I remember getting one of the best massages of my life by one of SpaZen’s RMTs when I visited, so it was well worth the money. You can even make a whole weekend out of it by booking a room at the Executive Hotel Cosmopolitan Toronto. By doing so, you get to enjoy their spa facilities free of charge with your stay.

Top 5 Toronto Spas St. Regis Toronto Iridium
Heated pool on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Toronto

4. Iridium Spa at the St. Regis Toronto

Located on the 31st floor of the lavish St. Regis Toronto, Iridium Spa is one of the most stylish spas in Toronto. Though I was only able to enjoy their heated pool (as their hot tub and steam room were currently closed), it was enough to get a taste of the luxurious space. Located a floor above the spa itself, hotel guests have full access to the facilities as well as spa visitors. We opted to use the facilities only because of how pricey the treatments ran. However, if you’re planning to go full out, Iridium Spa would definitely be the place to do it.

Set against the backdrop of downtown Toronto, you get a beautiful view of the city down below. When relaxing in Iridium Spa’s lounge after a treatment, there’s nothing better. Known as an urban oasis with massages starting at $200 for 60 minutes, you’re not only paying for the service but the full spa experience itself. Expect to be pampered with the 5-star treatment during your visit as I felt nothing less during my stay. The staff were extremely professional and friendly as we felt like we were treated like royalty every step of the way.

I’d highly recommend booking a treatment at Iridium for your next special occasion. It’s pure luxury and definitely makes the list for the top 5 Toronto spas to visit. And if you’re really feeling fancy, why not book a room at the St. Regis Toronto so you can check out the facilities during a weekend stay?

Top 5 Toronto Spas Hammam King Street

5. Hammam Spa

As what I’d like to think as the ultimate place of rejuvenation, Hammam Spa is a beautiful space where ancient meets modern. Similar to a Turkish bath, Hammam focuses on cleansing and detoxifying your body through the usage of steam rooms before and after treatment. I visited their King West location a few years ago, where I received the most relaxing deep tissue massage by an experienced RMT. They have since opened a second location, Hammam Spa by Céla at Bayview Village, which looks even more extravagant than their original location.

Although Hammam Spa doesn’t have the therapeutic waters that I love, there’s something very special about this place. I’d say anyone who prioritizes mental wellness needs to experience this at least once. With massages starting at $100 for 30 minutes, you have complimentary usage of the steam room with any treatment. Personally, I find Turkish bathhouses to be quite extreme. Hammam’s steam room goes up to 102 degrees. However, the tension it releases from our bodies is so beneficial. Just try not to overdo it.

After steaming away your toxins, you have lounging in your robe all day to look forward to. You can also book a spa lunch at Hammam Spa to be enjoyed in their tea room afterwards. I remember this to be a space of complete tranquility so I’d highly recommend it.

Top Toronto Spas Scandinave Mont Tremblant Québec

From all my spa experiences put together, I’d say the one thing I love most is just being present in the moment. There is a deep sense of renewal and mental release that comes with it. So much that I’ve made it my mission to visit as many spas as I can. These top 5 Toronto spas just so happen to be the most noteworthy ones I’ve visited so far. When I step into these spaces, I’m reminded of how still time can be in that moment. As a result, all my stresses melt away for those couple of blissful hours.

Being in the most unordinary circumstances, I’ve found that practicing mindfulness is more important now than ever. From the top 5 Toronto spas mentioned, most have already reopened their doors for private treatments. I’ve truly missed the time spent just taking care of my mental wellbeing during this time. Hopefully in another few months, we can all enjoy the full spa experience once again.

If you’re like myself who finds peace and serenity at the spa, make sure to bookmark this post when planning your next spa visit. Toronto has some of the best spas – make sure to visit at least one them in the near future!
