The holidays have sadly come and gone with winter just starting, but one New Years staple is here to stay – the beloved metallics. Although I didn’t end up going to some fancy shindig this New Years Eve, I did manage to incorporate some metallics into my outfit because honestly, what kind of New Years would it be without it? You know metallics is my ultimate favourite holiday style, which is why I can’t bear to put it away even now that January has officially hit. Most people only wear metallics during the holidays but it’s been one of the biggest trends this winter so why put it away? I’ve seen everything from metallic purses, jackets and shoes popping up everywhere that it’s definitely one trend that I’ll continue to rock for winter.
Most recently, I’ve seen a major return of the metallic trend in all my favourite stores this season. I distinctly remember metallics being all the rage more than ten years ago so I’ve been ecstatic to see it coming back. In fact, when I saw the Aritzia Super Puff in metallic silver, I knew I was in for a real treat this winter. Many people associate metallics with more formal wear but it can definitely be worn for a night out or on a winter date to add some sass to your look. Pictured above, I’m wearing my M boutique metallic blouse (that I found on sale) paired with my leather pants and black suede booties. The top definitely speaks for itself, giving off a very flashy look to spice up these long winter months. Because let’s be honest, even I can’t stand to wear black all the time in this drab weather.
Metallic fashion definitely makes for a great statement and looks amazing when paired with the right accessories. I completed this outfit with my heather grey sweater jacket and my tiny white crossbody for a chic winter date look. The metallic top definitely adds a touch of glam to the entire ensemble, which I love. You can easily add some metallic pieces to your everyday outfit for a similar stylish look – whether it be an edgy silver purse or a pair of metallic booties. There’s also no better time to shop for metallics than right now as the holidays are over and everything metallic should be on sale! Who says metallics should collect dust for another year? Jazz up your winter style with a signature metallic item to complete your post-holiday wardrobe. Let’s start 2019 slaying and leave the winter blues behind 🙂

You said it best. This year I have seen a lot of metallic jackets. In fact, one of my blogger friends just posted one of herself in a metallic silver jacket. It’s such an edgy look – I love it! Awesome post this week 🙂
Thanks so much!! I’ve literally been seeing everything in metallic for the past while now and I think it’s one of the best trends for winter. It’s so edgy yet chic at the same time!
You’re a dazzling star! You look perfect in silver. Have you thought about the rose gold look too?
Thanks girl! Metallics are all the rage right now; it just brightens up your entire wardrobe 😉 It’s great that you mention rose gold as well, I love rose gold accessories but haven’t seen enough of it in clothing. It’s gotta be my next find!
