Top 4 Fenty Beauty Products You Don’t Want to Miss Out On

Fenty Beauty makeup review productsIt’s been over a year since the infamous beauty line by Rihanna – Fenty Beauty – first launched and it’s been a crowd pleaser. Rihanna has been my style icon for a decade now, known for her bold fashion choices and give no f*cks attitude, that I was ecstatic when I found out she’d be crossing over to makeup. Fenty Beauty is a beautiful makeup line showcasing her personality perfectly through a collection of matte lipsticks, glosses, metallic highlighters and over 50 shades of foundation to match each unique skin tone. For the first time, the products matched the hype and I couldn’t be happier. Although Fenty Beauty can at times be for the bolder femme fatale, there are also many gorgeous everyday looks that I find myself gravitating towards. Here are four of the best Fenty products that’s I’ve tried so far.

1. Match Stix Trio ($67)

Having just gotten into contouring, the Match Stix Trio by Fenty Beauty has been a life saver for beginners. They have four different trio sets beginning from light to deep skin tone to help conceal, contour and highlight. I use the Light 100 for myself consisting of two matte skinsticks (Linen and Amber) and one shimmer stick (Starstruck). Not only does the texture of these matte sticks create a flawless finish, but the design of these easy-to-apply sticks is also one of the best parts. All of the Fenty Beauty Match Stix are magnetized so you can keep them all together in your purse while on the go. I also love how it’s non-greasy with spot-on contouring shades for my skin colour. It makes contouring easy with an airy feel in just a few easy swipes. I especially love how the highlighter stick adds a metallic sheen without being too overpowering. All Match Stix are also sold separately and can be made into custom sets but Fenty does an amazing job in pairing these trio sets to cater to each skin tone uniquely.

2. Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo ($44)

You can tell Rihanna sure loves her highlighters as there are multiple Fenty highlighter palettes to choose from ranging from pretty neutrals to dreamy pastels. My personal favourite is the Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo consisting of two illuminating shades – Poolside and 7Daywknd – which can be used for eyes and cheeks. I’ve never been a fan of pastel eyeshadow but these prismatic blue and purple shades really caught my eye and they look even better when applied. I initially thought the blue hue would be really overpowering but it’s a lovely iridescent formula while the purple gives off a major shimmer. I love applying the purple highlight on the corner crease and on the bottom of my eyes to create a head-turning glow while out on the town. The eyeshadows are definitely used more as highlights, which go on the skin luminously to create a translucent effect. For an even bolder glow, try the highlighter duo on your cheekbones to really shine.

3. Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo ($42)

One of Fenty Beauty’s bestsellers is the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo with the two stunning shades of Hu$la Baby and Mean Money. They are the definition of weightless highlighting powders using the mix of soft champagne and feathery peach shimmer to create a subtle luminous glow. As much as I do love the shimmer stick highlighter, I love the Killawatt one even more. The powder formula works best on my combination skin whereas the matte skinsticks can be a bit drying at times. As well, with powder highlighters, they’re so easy to apply and easily blended if you’re tight on time. I definitely enjoy using a highlighter in replacement of my blush nowadays to add the perfect glow to my makeup routine. I use this one every day for a subtle sheen to my overall complexion. I’d recommend it to all the highlighter beginners out there – a little bit of highlighter definitely goes a long way!

4. Stunna Lip Paint ($30)

My ultimate favourite Fenty Beauty product has to be their Stunna lip paint in Uncuffed. I’ve only used a handful of liquid lipsticks in my life but I could feel a major difference in the Fenty one from the getgo. Not only did I fall in love with the rosy mauve colour but it has a flat-tipped precision wand that I haven’t found anywhere else before. The unique shape of the wand makes application a breeze so the high-impact colour can line your lips perfectly. Most liquid lipsticks dry out your lips but Fenty’s literally feels like I’m coating them in a moisturizing lip mask. Did I also mention it stays on for 12 hours? I put it to the test and though some colour did come off after a meal, I didn’t feel the need to retouch it. It has long-lasting wear down pat. There are times when I’ll forget I’m even wearing it – it really feels like I’m wearing nothing at all. If I were to highly recommend any Fenty product, it would be this one. You should also know all Fenty products are cruelty-free which is another added plus!
