With all the new snow we’ve been getting lately, I must admit I’ve been hiding under my winter parka for that added warmth. For the warmer winter days though, I’ve been able to take out my new heather grey overcoat, which is the easiest way to make a fashion statement this season. I’ve been searching for that perfect overcoat all winter long and at last, as soon as I tried this beauty on at Top Shop, I knew I had a winner. Standing at five foot four, it’s always been a struggle to find a long coat that would look good on my petite frame. So, it was almost like finding treasure when I finally found one that not only fit me well but also, the perfect length for my height.
To keep warm, I definitely layered up underneath my oversized overcoat and styled it with grey and black pieces. There’s something about the monochromatic look that I really love so adding shades of grey worked well with the black leather pants and accessories – giving that added edge that I try to implement into every outfit. Mostly, I would be a bit wary of wearing light colours because of my fair complexion but the heather grey really helped me stand out in this drab weather. To add warmth and style, I decided to throw on my multi-tonal circle scarf on top. Usually, I would double it but keeping it as is actually worked better for the length of the coat.
The easiest way to look stylish and to stay warm during winter is definitely with a turtleneck – I have yet to find something they don’t look good with. I must admit I’ve been wearing my Wilfred turtleneck practically all the time (I should’ve bought more of these) this winter. What I love about this one, in particular, is that it’s made from a see-through stretch fabric that lets my bra peek out. So, even if I’m not showing any skin, it still has all the sex appeal that I love for any outfit that I put together. Styling it with my overcoat definitely added just the right amount of winter style to keep me looking and feeling cozy!
