Like many people, summer has always been one of my favourite seasons. Living in Toronto, though, we only really get to experience two months of summer weather. And even in the summertime, the nights will be quite chilly. That’s why even though it’s tube top season, there’s no way I’ll be leaving home without a jacket even when the forecast says it’s thirty degrees out. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I’m really loving tube tops this year. They give off the perfect amount of sex appeal with minimal effort. Unlike my last post on flowy tube tops, I’m styling my body-fitting tube top, this time, with some casual looks for those chillier summer nights.
I love this fitted tube top because I can essentially throw pretty much anything on top of it. One of my favourite and easiest summer looks is to style my outfit with a denim jacket. I have quite a few of them but this season, the oversized look seems to be taking center stage. I found this amazing denim jacket on sale at M Boutique recently and loved it. To be honest, I almost passed it up because I wasn’t sure if I could pull off the acidic wash but it was the perfect complement to my feminine outfit. It definitely gives my look a certain edge; the oversized silhouette of the denim jacket balanced out my ultra-tight fitting outfit. The distressed detailing also gives this look a casualness that works well for an everyday summer look.
Of course, there’s also those smoldering summer days where you can’t bear to wear a jacket at all. Wearing this pink tube top by itself is also a great daytime to nighttime look. I styled my fitted tube top with a pair of my sleek black leggings, which are made of a very breathable fabric that makes wearing them in the summertime very comfortable. The leggings work well to keep things classy but still feminine at the same time. To finish the look, I wore my favourite lace-up black boots for an easy nighttime look when I want to look a bit dressier but don’t want to go the whole nine yards by wearing five-inch heels. The boots are a perfect finish for a cool summer’s night outfit. And no doubt, in Toronto, we get many of those.
Like I said, I’ve been loving wearing tube tops this season because of how versatile they are. Depending on whatever jacket I throw on top, it can be transformed into a completely different outfit. For this last look, I styled the same tube top with my Babaton sweater jacket, which you might remember from my spring jackets post. It’s super cozy and warm for those chilly nights. Even though it may seem like a heavy jacket to wear for summer, it’s actually very lightweight and just a thin layer on top of my skin-baring top. And not sure if it’s just me but the summers in Toronto seems to be getting colder and colder every year. This look is a great way to transform an otherwise casual look into a more sophisticated one. You can bet I’ll be styling this tube top with any summer jackets I can find.

You look great! I love that lipstick on you! What shade is it? Is that the berry?
Haha yes! It’s my favourite Tarte Colorsplash lipstick. Thanks for noticing!
