How to Look Chic and Pretty This Valentine’s Day

It’s that time of year again and whether you hate it or love it, it’s always nice to have an excuse to dress up on Valentine’s Day. Whether you have a beau this year or going it solo, who says you can’t pull out a flirty number for a fun night out? Maybe I’m just a sucker for romance but let’s not allow all those dresses you bought on sale last Boxing Day to collect dust. This year I’ve really been feeling the pink vibes so if you’re really in the Valentine’s mood like I am, why not try a pink velvet dress from Top Shop that basically speaks for itself. I’ve never been a fan of velvet but for some reason, on this dress, it works. The cut is super stylish with an asymmetrical wrap hem and embellished buttons on the side. The neckline on this dress was in actuality a lot lower but I easily adjusted it by pinning it a bit higher for my smaller frame. I’d definitely wear this Valentine’s inspired dress for a girls night out as much as for a date. For an easy Valentine’s look, why not throw on that dress you’ve been meaning to wear with a pair of form-fitting booties and some dainty jewelry? Together, you’ll definitely have an effortlessly chic look.

On the other hand, I’d completely understand if wearing a dress in this killer winter weather is not at the top of your list. That’s why rocking a form-fitting sweater or cardigan is your best bet for looking stylish yet comfortable this V-Day. I recently nabbed this perfect cropped cardigan from Aritzia and not only is it a great day look, but it would also be a lovely Valentine’s Day piece. The cut of it is super romantic with the oversized sleeves, plunging neckline and cinched waist. I love Valentine’s Day but the fact that it lands in the middle of winter? Not so much. That’s why styling a cute sweater with a pair of skintight pants would not only keep you warm but looking date-appropriate as well. You also know how much I love wearing my leather pants with everything so in this case, it definitely adds a touch of style to my simple and clean look. I finished it off with a pair of my sexy over-the-knee black suede boots and mini white crossbody – together, I’m ready to sip on my favourite glass of rosé all night long.

However, if you’re the type to go all out for Valentine’s Day, why not try all-pink outfit? For most of my nighttime outfits, I prefer two-piece sets over dresses; the main reason being that it’s more versatile and I can mix and match tops and bottoms. For this outfit pictured above, I paired my pink suede bodysuit with a two-layered skirt and draped my light pink overcoat on top. The shades of pink match perfectly for a chic and sweet Valentine’s Day look. You could always add a belt for a more defined waistline but I wore this as is because truth be told, I can’t find many waist belts that fit my petite waist. If you guys know of any suggestions, please let me know in the comments below! However, I love a skintight two-piece and this outfit hugs my shape nicely to create curves where I thought there were none. As well, my lovely pink overcoat definitely finishes it off for a very classy and feminine look. Valentine’s Day might not be for everyone but nothing beats playing around with your wardrobe on a date night with either your sexy Valentine or pretty Galentine.
