Flowy Tube Tops and Summer Days at the Walton

Alright, I know it’s still a bit early but summer weather has finally hit Toronto. All my flowy tops are out and I couldn’t be happier. More so, I’ve been visiting a bunch of cute local cafés lately with the Walton taking the number one title. In fact, they even have a sign outside their store stating the same – “cutest bar in Toronto” – it reads. As soon as I stepped into this charming space, I felt like I’d been transported to another era and right into the cafés of Paris. I loved the aged wooden floors and matching furniture with the antiquey vibes. It felt like I’d stepped right outside of Toronto and into a quaint little European wine bar.

With this sudden heat wave going on, I’ve been loving flowy tops that you can actually move in. And since I’m addicted to showing off those shoulders this year, I can’t think of anything better than a flowy tube top. I’ll admit that I’ve always avoided tube tops until recently because of how much they fall down constantly. However, if the fit is just right, it’s the perfect look on a summer’s day. I also couldn’t resist this adorable top from M Boutique with its feminine detailing in a semi-transparent cream fabric. It’s a classy look that can be pulled off with minimal effort. I paired this flowy tube top with my leggings to balance out the skin-baring top half and voilà, I was set for my tea date. And I don’t know about you but I love matching my outfits to the décor of my cafés 😉

The Walton doubles as a café during the day and a bar with light savoury options at nighttime. I visited during the day so I was only able to try their teas and some of their pastries. They have a wide selection of your typical Sloane teas, which have become a staple in all cafés across Toronto and some espresso-based beverages, for all you coffee-lovers out there. The chocolate torte you see pictured above, which was ordered by my friend, was good but a very pricey $9. I would say I love the ambience of this bar/café but it can definitely be on the pricey side depending on what you order. I would save this hidden gem for a summer date night – the patio in the back is way too cozy and romantic to pass up for at least a one-time visit.
