Spring has officially begun! For me, that means I finally get to trade in my winter coat for one of my many spring jackets. The camouflage trend has been around since forever but I’ve been noticing it coming back in a major way recently. The reason for its popularity is a no-brainer – it’s so versatile that essentially anyone can rock it. And not just in the springtime either but all year round. For winter, I have that one camo sweater I love to wear but now that Spring has hit, I can finally wear out my camouflage front-and-center. Instead of spring florals, I have opted to go for an edgier militarian-style look that makes standing out easy – even if you’re supposedly “camouflaged”.
Even though it started in the military, camouflage has become a fashion staple amongst the masses as a go-to everyday look. You can easily up the cool factor in your outfit a few notches simply by throwing on a camo jacket over your casual weekend look. For this spring outfit, I pulled on my oversized camouflage jacket on top of my all black ensemble. I know camouflage tends to be more of a masculine look, which is why I styled it with my skin-tight bodysuit and leather skirt underneath. Keeping a good balance between the masculine and feminine silhouette of this outfit is what makes it work best – you can look edgy yet feminine at the same time.
I finished off this look with a pair of my black suede booties (because you know how much I love booties by now) and my favourite Rebecca Minkoff crossbody. The black and gold detailing of the purse definitely worked well with the camouflage to give it that extra bit of style. And because it’s still chilly out, I layered up with my oversized wool sweater underneath for added warmth. I must say I never thought I could rock camo until I tried it. For anyone who thinks it’s too masculine for them – if styled with the right pieces, you can definitely make any outfit into a feminine one. Needless to say, a camouflage jacket is a definite must-have for your spring closet!

There’s so many different ways to style camo joggers! You could try wearing it with a chambray shirt and a pair of boat shoes for a stylish look.
