Cute and Cozy for Your Next Coffee Date

Now that the holidays are officially over, there are still another three months of cold weather to look forward to. However, having lived in Toronto my whole life, I’ve managed to find ways to look cute while staying warm at the same time – even in the midst of a snowstorm. Well, a new year has just begun and what better way to start off the year than with a casual coffee date? As cold as winter may be, I’ve always found something very magical and romantic about this season, which makes going on a date this time of year that much more exciting!

Temperatures are dipping low real quick so definitely throw on your warmest coat as you make your way to that first encounter. I must admit during these months, my go-to footwear is my favourite pair of UGGs but for a date, I’ll opt for a pair of booties. They are perfect for dressing up any outfit that’ll undoubtedly make you look date-ready. You might be sitting the entire time but shoes definitely complete the outfit and if you’re going to put an effort into looking good, why not do it all the way? Also, you can try styling your outfit with a fun purse to let more of that personality shine through!

If you haven’t already, definitely invest in a fuzzy pink sweater this season. Millennial pink has been the hottest colour trend since last year and I have a sneaking suspicion it’s here to stay. For this look, I was able to find a cropped sweater that will keep me warm while leaving the frumpiness behind. Not only that, the cropped cut gives your outfit a flirty edge. Who says you can’t show a bit of skin on winter coffee date?

Since it’s a date, you definitely want to go for a more fitted cut. For this look, the pink hue gives it the femininity that makes it date-appropriate while keeping it sweet and classy. If you have found that perfect sweater that can keep things casual while bringing out a romantic flare, you have most of your work cut out for you. Since the sweater already speaks for itself, it’s best to keep accessories minimal and delicate. You don’t want to look too flashy on your coffee date – you can always save that for the second date 😉
