When you find a watch you love, no doubt it’s the ultimate accessory to complete your look. I own a few watches but when I purchased my Welly Merck rose gold watch, it became my go-to for all and every one of my outfits. I’ve mentioned how much I do love this watch previously in my 3 Accessories I Never Leave Home Without post but it’s been almost a year now, I wanted to write an honest review of the Welly Merck watch brand. When I first stumbled upon Welly Merck, on first impressions, it looks a lot like a Daniel Wellington knock-off brand. However, after being impressed by their clean and sleek design, I decided to get one for myself. When the package arrived, I was ready to unveil whether or not this watch could surpass my expectations. Needless to say, it did beyond that and here’s why.
It arrives in a pretty Tiffany blue box.
When my package first arrived, I was excited to see that it came in pretty heavy duty packaging. This was a good sign that the quality of the product was ensured and better yet, it came in a Tiffany blue box! It had its Welly Merck logo displayed on the front and the weight of it was reassuring to say the least. I hate when I buy things online and they barely put any thought into the packaging. Based upon first impressions, things were off to a good start.

I loved that under the initial blue packaging was another stylish box that was keeping my Welly Merck watch in place. The box opened to a nice velvety cushioned lining that gave the watch a luxe feel. The black definitely made the product look more sophisticated and gave the sense it was made with high-quality materials. I was impressed by how much thought they’d put into the Welly Merck branding and when I finally saw the watch, I was even more impressed.
I love the classic design of the watch and its adjustable mesh strap.
Definitely the main reason for why I love this watch so much is how stylish and clean it looks on. I chose the 30mm Fighter New York watch in rose gold and it complements my skin tone so well. I also really like the tiny sapphire crystals marking the dial of the watch; it gives it a very feminine touch that makes it unique to other designs. As for how Welly Merck stacks up against Daniel Wellington watches, I’m gonna say there’s one thing Welly has that Daniel doesn’t and it’s their completely adjustable watch strap. I have super tiny micro wrists so all my watch bands always have to be manually adjusted in the shop. As for Welly, you can just easily adjust it yourself to the length of your desire by sliding the clasp however you please. I absolutely LOVED this feature because up until that point, I haven’t had one watch where I could fit to myself upon first purchase. It made wearing my Welly Merck watch everyday so easy and I honestly haven’t worn any other watch since.
It’s made with great care and good quality materials.
I’ve had my Welly Merck watch for almost a year now and so far so good. I literally stopped wearing my other watches because of how well the Fighter Watch suits every occasion. The metal hasn’t changed in terms of colour and it doesn’t have that flimsy cheap feel that you might find in other online products. For an online store, I’d say it exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. It feels and looks like a good quality timepiece that I’m more than happy to show off daily. Now I can feel at ease purchasing another Welly Merck watch if I choose to because the product pictured online looks just the same in real life. The most important factor for me is definitely the quality of the product; it can’t just look pretty and then break in a couple months. Welly is still going strong on this one.
The interchangeable strap is a nice way to change up your look.
I haven’t personally tried changing the strap on my Welly Merck watch but the package comes with a set of instructions on how to easily change between straps. As well, there’s many styles of my Fighter New York watch paired with different straps if you’re looking for a different look from the mesh. Under the accessories section of their website, you can always shop for extra straps separately if you choose to.
