Fall has become one of my favourite seasons to show off my style in recent years. The drop in temperature is always a bummer but then you realize how pretty everything is and how cozy you feel in your layers of sweaters, it makes it all worth it. I used to hate the end of summer but now, I love the feeling of change. It means something new is about to begin and the first thing is to decide which jacket to layer on top of which top or dress.

To put together an easy but going out ready look for fall, the biggest trend this year is definitely a camel coat. As pictured above, I love this one from Dynamite because it’s lightweight and has a drop shoulder design to it. Oversized silhouettes are great for adding style as long as you keep your outfit form-fitting underneath. Since I want to look going out appropriate, I’m leaving the sweaters at home and going with a lingerie-style camisole and high-waisted leggings underneath. Finished off with a pair of chic booties, you have yourself a stylish fall outfit that you can wear for a night out while looking super cute in camel.

One of my favourite parts of fall is being able to rock my leather jacket over any look. This year, I’m wearing one I got for FREE from M Boutique this past spring. You heard that right – free as in $0. How did I get this gorgeous leather jacket for free you ask? They were having their grand opening at their Square One location in April and the first 100 customers to spend over $150 before taxes were gifted this beautiful leather jacket pictured above. I believe I was around the 20th person in line that day – basically the only reason I’d get out of bed that early on a Saturday for. I styled this edgy outfit with my sexy tight-fitting nude dress that I wore throughout summer and threw on my leather jacket overtop for a going out ready look. To finish it off, I wore my suede booties and a black leather crossbody to easily style a simple yet sexy fall outfit. The nude dress is definitely a stunner next to the edgy leather accents; I love a minimalist look with a twist.

Most will agree that the easiest way to look stylish while keeping cozy for fall is definitely with an oversized overcoat. I often like a cropped look with high-waisted pants because it looks casual but also versatile enough for a night out. I paired this camel jacket with my oversized hobo bag for a boho chic look. I often find myself pairing my all-black outfits with a colour accent such as the ones featured in this post. Black is definitely my go-to colour palette of choice when going out but to set yourself apart from everyone else, it’s always nice to have a statement piece to break up the darker shades. Fall is all about the warm tones and that goes for fall fashion as well – whether it be camel, nude or amber, going out ready is always more fun when you throw in some colour (that’s a big statement coming from me). My best advice – keep it chic in black but mix in one item of choice that makes the black stand out (:
