I recently made a trip out to Montreal, Quebec for the first time in over two years and instantly, I remembered how much I love this beautiful city! Not only is the food delicious but it’s so full of charm and beautiful architecture that makes me feel as if I stepped right into Europe. Old Montreal is definitely a very touristy area but it’s a must-see and if you’ve ever been, you’ll understand why. It’s a district full of cute coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and the narrow streets make you feel like you’ve been transported to an entirely different city altogether.

I was only in Montreal for a short weekend visit with friends but we ended up having brunch in Old Montreal on our last day. It’s definitely a long wait to snag a seat during brunch time as they do not take reservations so I utilized this time to do a shoot on these beautiful streets. I had to take advantage of the stunning historic architecture surrounding me and with the beautiful weather, I couldn’t resist.

Everyone who knows me knows I don’t wear a lot of bright colours and when you’re in Montreal, you can’t go wrong with black. Some people will say wearing all black is boring but wearing a black mesh top with a lacy bra underneath? Problem solved. Here, I styled my see-through top with high-waisted black denim pants and my quilted rainboots to keep the look casual enough for daytime.

It was the perfect outfit against the backdrop of the historical buildings of Old Montreal. I wanted to keep my look minimalistic with a slight twist and wearing a mesh top definitely added a touch of style to my all-black-everything look. The thing I love most about mesh tops is they are not only fun to wear but also look sophisticated while showing the perfect amount of skin peeking through. The lacy bralette also adds that feminine edge to a weekend outfit that makes it fun to wear at night as well.

After brunch, we ended up doing a bit of exploring and stumbled upon this adorable corner store called Le Petit Dep. The bright turquoise storefront quickly caught our eye and we couldn’t resist stopping by for a quick drink. Inside we found a wide assortment of baked goods, drinks, souvenirs and lots of candy to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I decided to go for my usual cup of hot chocolate and cozied up in their vintage inspired shop for a bit while people watching from the window seat. It was the perfect way to spend an afternoon in Montreal while experiencing the culture and history of the city within the charming district of Old Montreal.
