It’s still February but I can already feel spring coming! The weather has been especially warm for this time of the year, which put me right in the mood for a sweet Sunday date at Bobbette & Belle. It’s been awhile since I’ve visited one of their bakeries but as soon as I did, I was reminded of all the mouthwatering treats I usually enjoy ogling at whenever I come. Stepping into this bakery shop makes me feel right at home with their rustic detailing and vintage decorative displays. It took me awhile to decide on what to order as there were so many options to choose from (brownies, cupcakes, cookies, pies – you name it) but I finally decided to go with a chocolate and vanilla frosted cupcake while my boyfriend tried their blueberry crumble pie.
Usually, I would dress pretty casual on a Sunday afternoon but knowing I was coming here for an impromptu date with my boyfriend, I decided to dress for the occasion and put on my new silky rose-coloured blouse. The feminine and vintage-inspired detailing of this Wilfred top also matched well with the interior of the cafe. And better yet, the colour alone is such a pretty and subtle blush tone for spring, making it very date-appropriate. What I love most though about this blouse is the glossy finish to the fabric – it gives off a very 70s movie star look to it with a touch of understated elegance, which added some romance to our casual Sunday date.
At Bobbette & Belle, not only were the desserts beautiful to look at but they tasted just as good too. I’ve had a lot of cupcakes in my life and comparing the ones in Toronto to my all-time favourite bakery shop – Magnolia in New York – has always been second to none. After trying the ones at Bobbette & Belle, I’ll say they’re the best ones I’ve had in Toronto so far – sweet, creamy and moist. Everything in the dessert cafe was just so beautiful to look at, from the baked goods behind the glass counter to the porcelain plate displays and low-hanging light fixtures. The interior gave me major Victorian-era vibes with a vey homey feel to it.
To finish off my Sunday look, I accessorized the blouse with my favourite wrap-around black suede choker, which always looks good with v-neck tops and button-down shirts. For my lips, I put on my new custom red berry lipstick from Bite Beauty (read my last beauty post for details) and I felt like I fit right in with the pretty desserts and detailing of the cute bakery shop. It was a great place for a sweet Sunday afternoon date (the shop gets pretty busy around 2-3 pm so I would suggest coming a bit before or after). I would definitely come back to try more of their baked goods – I believe there’s a chocolate hazelnut cake with my name on it.

Looking sharp as always. What types of cupcake flavours are there to eat? Where is Bobbette & Belle located?
Thanks! They have a wide of flavours but when I visited, they had chocolate, vanilla, red velvet and raspberry. You can find the address at the end of my post but they also have another location in Leslieville, which is their original location.
