4 Chic Ways to Style Long Boots for Spring

It’s finally spring and I’m welcoming all my spring style favourites back into my wardrobe with open arms. This year’s spring definitely holds special meaning considering the length of time we’ve spent in isolation so far. With that, the warmer weather is breathing new life into me as well as my clothing choices. I’ve especially been finding myself drawn to how amazing long boots made me feel all throughout winter that I’ve decided to incorporate them into my spring style.

I’m sure many can agree that this year’s lockdown really took a toll on our mental health. The long hours spent with little to do were rough on all of us. One way I did manage to cope was to dress in ways that made me feel my most confident as much as I could. I know many people opted for sweats, hoodies or sweatsuits for much of last year but that did nothing to lift my spirits. If you’re like me and want to feel your best – long boots are the way to go. Here are four chic ways you can style long boots for spring.

1. With a crop top and biker shorts.

My favourite spring and summer essentials are definitely a cute crop top and a pair of biker shorts. Not sure why I’ve never experimented wearing this combo with a pair of long leather boots before but together, they make for a major fashion statement. Styled with a cozy knit cardigan and my Sasha purse from Jeanne Lottie, it’s been such a cool style switch-up from a very simple and easy look. If you’re looking to put a bit of a twist on a casual outfit that you love wearing already anyway, try a pair of edgy long boots to elevate that look.

2. With a pair of leather pants.

I love wearing leather all year round so spring is definitely no exception for some leather pants. It’s an easy upgrade from my usual denim pants and makes every outfit into an effortlessly chic one. Styled with a long blazer jacket and a pair of long beige boots, it makes for the perfect boss babe attire. Although it’s all neutral shades, the contrast between the black and the beige will make you undoubtedly stand out from the crowd. If you haven’t already, better invest in a pair of good leather leggings for days when you want to upgrade your outfit with minimal effort.

3. With a killer trench.

It should go without saying but crop tops and biker shorts are a way of life during these warmer months. If you’re looking to make these basics look not so basic – and as easily as possible – throw a trench on top of it. Styled with a pair of stylish long boots, you’ll look effortlessly fashion forward and feminine. A killer trench has always been spring’s must-have but instead of wearing it over jeans and flats, add a bit of edge to it with a pair of high-waisted biker shorts and heeled boots. This is a fun way to style long boots for spring to take your wardrobe up a notch.

4. With a slit dress and leather jacket.

Slit dresses are becoming one of my favourite style pieces and for good reason. One of the main ones being how amazing it looks with a good pair of long boots. I managed to get away with wearing slit dresses all through winter this way and now that it’s finally spring, it feels natural to transition them in seamlessly. Styled with a worn-in leather jacket and a cozy cardigan, the boots bring this outfit together for an effortless city girl look that has my confidence levels soaring. What’s better than showing off a bit of leg with your chic leather boots at the same time?

Everyone has that one item in their closet that gives them a confidence boost every time they wear it. My item of the moment is definitely a pair of long heeled boots. Standing at a very petite size of 5″4, I always love wearing shoes with a bit of a heel to elevate my entire outfit. I love flats as much as the next person but a pair of long boots gives me that incomparable feeling that I can take on the world.

The key is to find a pair that not only fits perfectly with your style but is comfortable enough to wear all day in. Anything less than three inches is usually manageable for long periods of time. When you do find the perfect pair for you, you’ll find endless ways to style your long boots for spring. They’re not only the fashion statement your spring wardrobe has been waiting for but also a great way to elongate your legs if you’re petite-sized like me.
